Charleston Swing Dance Association (CSDA) wants to be a safe and welcoming space for everyone attending events. While no space can be completely safe or free from harm, we ask that all attending to follow our guidelines to help make CSDA’s events as safe and friendly as possible.
We ask that the people attending CSDA events to abide by the following guidelines:
Respect others opinions, and differing points of view
Respect others personal boundaries. If someone mentions that they are uncomfortable, listen and change your behavior.
Anyone attending a CSDA event is allowed to ask anyone in the room to dance, and everyone is also allowed to decline a dance for any reason. You are not allowed to act demeaning or negative towards someone just because they denied a dance.
When in doubt, follow the golden rule and treat others the way you want to be treated.
At CSDA, all bullying harassment, abuse, and assault is never permitted. If you experience, witness, and/or see any of these occur, please approach a board member. Board members are here to support the community and help with any conflicts arising from violation of our policies. If you can’t find a board member, please see a front desk worker, teacher, or DJ, and they will assist you.
CSDA has the right to remove anyone from our events due to any outside criminal behavior that does not follow the guidelines above.
